Kent County Canoe & Kayak Club 2009 Schedule

This is the tentative Paddle Schedule for 2009.  Please note that there are a few empty dates.  If you wish to take charge of one of the empty date please let Glenn know by e-mail or snail mail.  He will update the schedule and let the rest of the membership know about the new dates.

Remember, by sending our notices by e-mail the club saves money.  This is how we remain in business without requiring dues.

Reminders for all 2009 events will be sent.

The blank Dates are from last year and we are hoping that those folks will want to do a Paddle this year.  Please let Glenn know.

Date & Time

Location

Host and Directions

June 20th – 10 am

Millington Water Park (next to the treatment plant)

Chester River Association

you guys usually have some kind of cook out or hosting of eats afterward, but for logistics of the first one, I thought we can just have the paddle/clean up part and if someone on the volunteer groups wants to host a potluck than we could do that, otherwise we will skip the food.

This is a “working” Paddle - we will be picking up trash and landing at Shadding reach Landing (about 3.5 miles). The total time will be on how much time we spend cleaning up our river.

The tide will be with us so it should be an easy paddle. I would like a head count so I can have vehicles ready to transport folks back up to the launch site to retrieve kayaks, unless folks want to return by kayak (not too bad, the tide would be coming in). Not sure how long your previous paddles have been, but I would assume a little longer since our focus will be picking up trash. I will also have a truck ready for trash pickup.
